Lancing Parish Council

Lancing Parish Council was set up in 1894. It covers the area between Shoreham-by-sea and Worthing from Western Road (adjacent to Brooklands) and Sompting in the west through to the River Adur in the east. It stretches from the beach and coast inland to include part of the South Downs.

Notice is hereby given that you are required to attend the meeting of the Finance & General Purposes Committee which will be held on Wednesday 15th February 2012 in the Council Chamber, Parish Hall, South Street at 7.30 p.m.

The minutes of this meeting were agreed at the Full Council meeting held on 1st February 2012. Copies of those Minutes were circulate at the Full Council meeting and sent to those Members not in attendance.

Members of the public are reminded that only questions and statements relating to items on this agenda will be allowed.

 

Questions relating to any other items that are not on this agenda should be referred to the Chair of the Council or Clerk as appropriate and outside this meeting.

A list of cheque payments for the month to date will be available at the meeting for signing by the designated signatories.

9.1       Budget update.

 

Attached as appendix A, is the state of finances to the end of January 2012 (fiscal month 10), which shows the latest budget forecasts to 2014. The Clerk will give further explanation as required.

 

9.2       How the Precept is spent.

 

Attached to the agenda as appendix B is a paper, which details how the Council uses the precept to run its services and facilities. This information has been placed on the Council’s web site but Committee may wish to consider making this available to a wider audience by publishing this in the next edition of the Village Voice. To provide a centre fold would cost approximately £750 and could, if there was sufficient space, incorporate the list of Council’s achievements over the last four years as reported to Council at its last meeting.

 

Committee is requested o determine this matter.
